Welcome to Peggy Turchette’s Art Studio
My background is in commercial illustration, where I’ve led a lively and creative life illustrating for stationery, paper products, textiles, packaging, ceramic giftware, books, magazines, calendars, and just about anything else that needs an illustration or surface design.
My latest artistic adventure has been into the field of traditional botanical art and illustration. I’ve always loved painting plants and flowers, but I’ve recently gone back to school to study the genre in depth. I recently acquired a Certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration from the internationally recognized program at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Through this intensive course of study, I have received classical training in traditional botanical illustration: honing my skills in observation, draftsmanship, color, composition, and clarity of execution. I am a better artist today, whether I am creating an illustration for a client or painting a piece of fine art for a gallery exhibition.
I live and work in a loft in Boulder, Colorado, surrounded by friends, family, dogs, gardens, and, of course, the Rocky Mountains. It’s impossible for me to tell where “work” ends and “life” begins, because for me they are so integrated. I consider myself extremely fortunate to live, work, play, and grow in such a beautiful and creatively nourishing environment.
Please take a look through my galleries, and see some of the things I love to create.
